Our philosophy is simple
Every child counts

At Happy Sprouts we are committed to providing the highest quality of care and education to inspire each and every child to reach their full potential in our state-of-the-art childcare centre. Our professional and committed staff accomplish this by offering a loving, safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment.

We encourage each child to actively explore the natural environment and assist them in forming strong connections with other children, educators and the broader local community.

We recognise that children experience their learning through play – play is their primary means of discovering and interacting with the world around them. This is why Happy Sprouts has been carefully crafted to encourage play through a range of unique learning environments and experiences that inspire curiosity and discovery.

The Happy Sprouts team walk alongside families throughout each child’s learning journey – we are all in this together.

Our unique educational programs are designed to focus on the emerging interests and needs of each child while adhering to the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the National Quality Framework which is implemented nationally through the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority.

Woven throughout the fabric of who we are is the belonging, being and becoming which underpins the early years learning framework for Australia. This means that each child feels welcome and is accepted for who they are and for who they are becoming.

Aboriginal and Torres strait islander cultures are valued

Happy Sprouts acknowledges the traditional owners and custodians of the many lands across Australia.

We acknowledge our shared histories and the contributions of aboriginal and Torres strait islanders peoples, who we recognise as being the first national people of Australia. We value the cultural histories and traditions of aboriginal and Torres strait islander peoples.

We will continue to respect traditions and cultures of aboriginal and Torres strait Islander peoples by recognising these within our curriculum, teachings and surroundings, allowing for aboriginal and Torres strait islander children, educators and families to feel a sense of belonging.

About us

Get to know us

We are a husband-and-wife team, owners and approved providers of Happy Sprouts Early Leaning. With our hands on experience managing a centre in Greenvale via the franchise model, we made the decision to expand the scope of what we offer as a service and so have started our own brand Happy Sprouts Early Learning. We are currently working to expand our portfolio of operating centres under this brand. At Happy Sprouts we provide unique opportunities for every child to thrive.
We know and respect the role of the family in a child’s life. That is why our children’s families inspire the work that we do. We also recognise the value of the support that parents and staff can provide to each other. When we team up, we can better support our children to thrive. We encourage parents to provide valuable feedback and to get involved in our learning experiences – just talk to our educators about how you might best contribute to our Happy Sprouts community.
Our very own chef at Happy Sprouts collaborates with staff, children and family in developing exciting menus in our state-of-the-art kitchen and serving areas. We include the children in our nutritious food preparation each week. We incorporate food grown in our very own veggie patches in our weekly cooking sessions. Through this experience, children learn sustainability concepts and get to see first-hand where vegetables come from and how they are crafted into the food we eat. This approach sets children up for life-long healthy eating patterns.
Happy Sprouts is a safe and comforting multi-cultural environment for everyone – every culture, background and way of life is recognised, included, respected, and valued. This means that each child is warmly welcomed and accepted for who they are and for who they are becoming. We strive to ensure our children learn to respect and care for others, be empathetic, and build trusting two-way relationships as they continue to grow.
Children’s creative spirits are nurtured as we provide carefully crafted scaffolding to support them as they take on new experiences, including well considered risks. These experiences inspire each child to think creatively, use their imagination, problem-solve and experiment with emerging ideas and interests through trial and error.
At Happy Sprouts we strive to understand the unique needs of each child entrusted into our care.

Children express their unique traits, talents, preferences and motivations from a very young age; be it six weeks old or six years old, they express their emerging strengths, passions and dispositions.

One of the primary roles of our educators and teachers is to take the time to observe and question in order to better understand the uniqueness of each individual child.

Taking the time to understand what makes each child unique is vital in developing and implementing a learning plan that supports them to develop to their full potential. Our educators regularly engage in reflective practice to critically examine all aspects of their work.
Play is how children learn and interact with the world around them. This is why the Happy Sprouts environment has been carefully crafted to encourage play through a range of state-of-the learning environments that inspire curiosity and discovery. Within these environments children engage in a variety of scenarios, games and experiences which support physical development such as small and gross motor skills, spatial awareness and coordination.
At Happy Sprouts, we lay the foundation for primary school through nurturing a child’s developing social, physical, spiritual, emotional and relational skills so that they are able to flourish in their new school environment. We provide school tours and orientation days at local schools to ensure that your child has a smooth transition into their new school adventure. We work closely with family and local primary teachers throughout this transition process – we are all in this together.

Steps we take to make our philosophy a reality

We are a family-run, community-driven childcare centre and kindergarten. We know and respect the role of the family in a child’s life. That is why our children’s families inspire the work that we do. We encourage parents to get involved – just talk to our educators about how you might best contribute to our learning community. We are committed to transparency and to open, two-way communication and this is why our easy to use app is designed to provide you with regular updates including photos and daily reports about your child’s experience and progress at Happy Sprouts. Parents can also use the app to communicate with us.
We created Happy Sprouts to be your child’s second home. We strive to provide a homely, welcoming, safe, supportive and comfortable place that provides education and care. It is important to us at Happy Sprouts that every child in our care feels like they are a part of our family.
We believe that developing trusting and respectful relationships with each child is the foundation for their learning and development. This is why our team at Happy Sprouts focus first on nurturing a connection with each child and ensuring that they feel safe and welcome in their new learning environment.
Our play-based learning environments and programs have been carefully crafted to provide the scaffolding required to support children to explore new experiences and to take well considered risks. These experiences inspire each child to think creatively, use their imagination, problem-solve and experiment with emerging ideas and interests through trial and error.
Happy Sprouts is a safe and comforting multi-cultural environment for everyone – every culture, background and way of life is recognised, included, respected, and valued. This means that each child is warmly welcomed and is accepted for who they are and for who they are becoming. The uniqueness of each child is cherished and nurtured.
We carefully and selectively choose the best quality educators available who are committed to providing intensive, individualised and relational educational experiences that match our philosophy. We take the time to develop and retain the best talent available. Our highly qualified team dedicate themselves to providing high-quality education and a joyous and safe environment to establish a solid foundation for lifelong learning. All of our educators are qualified and have a certificate 3, diploma or Bachelors of Education, while also being part of our local community.
A theme of respecting nature and the natural world runs throughout our design, operations and activities. We engage our children at Happy Sprouts in the natural environment and show them how to respect and care for it. We believe it is important to not just teach children about sustainability but to model it in everything we do. Our Happy Sprouts centre is around 85% self-sustaining through solar energy – our solar panels generate 50,000 kilowatts of solar energy each year. We use water from our water tanks to keep our garden and veggie patches going and for toilet flushing. Our centre is drenched in natural light through skylights, glass doors, walls and internal windows – we have no need for electric light.
At Happy Sprouts we recognise that we are part of the broader local community. Supporting, encouraging, and building our community is a big part of our approach. We recruit and shop locally and support local businesses with a range of connective initiatives. We work closely with schools, maternal health, and the local council to ensure our families receive support and recognition beyond our learning community.
